Speech Therapy Evaluations

Evaluations can sound downright scary, especially for you, the parent who may have never experienced a pediatric speech therapy evaluation. At Quintessential Services for Speech-Language-Hearing Pathology, we promise that our assessment is neither intimidating nor scary. Our process, or "evaluation," is there to help us assess your child or adult in the most positive and comforting way possible.

What to Expect During Our Evaluations

1.

Your therapist will arrive to meet with the adult, or the child and parent.

2.

Once the child or adult is comfortable, our therapist will create a bond to help you feel comfortable with our team.

3.

Once a bond is formed, our therapist will have a prepared form of assessment based on the presenting diagnosis and concern.

4.

Our therapist will test for: 

a. Speech Sounds 

b. Receptive language concerns

c. Expressive language concerns

d. Targeted language skills using toys and materials to keep your child engaged.

5.

After the formal evaluation is finished, our therapist will discuss with you the preliminary results. We then will create a therapy plan that will be formed based on your child's needs.
